Generating and Managing Keywords

Overview

The Keywords section is where you discover and organize the terms that define your brand’s visibility across AI search results.
Each keyword is associated with search volume, difficulty, and potential variations—forming the foundation for your future AI Q&A Sets and recommendations.

How Keyword Generation Works

Savannabay uses two complementary methods for finding keywords: AI Generation and Manual Input.
Each keyword is associated with search volume, difficulty, and potential variations—forming the foundation for your future AI Q&A Sets and recommendations.

1. AI Keyword Generation

When you click Generate More Keywords, Savannabay automatically:

  1. Uses your Brand’s website URL and description to understand your niche.

  2. Generates a set of X initial keywords using AI.

  3. Sends those keywords to the SEO provider, which looks for search variations and real data.

  4. Returns all keywords with Volume and Difficulty scores.

If the AI-generated keywords have no search volume, no results will be displayed.
In that case, it’s recommended to try again or use the Manual Input method for more specific control.

💡 Tip: Low or missing volume doesn’t mean the idea is bad - it just means users aren’t searching for it yet. Combine both AI and Manual modes to balance creativity with data.

2. Manual Keyword Input

Enable Manual Input if you want to test a specific term.

  1. Enter the exact keyword you want to check.

  2. Savannabay sends it to the SEO provider, which:

    • Searches for that exact keyword’s volume and difficulty.

    • Automatically looks for related variations.

  3. If good variations are found, they’re added to your results.
If not, Savannabay still returns your original keyword — even if it has little or no volume.

✅ This is useful when you want to validate niche or emerging terms that AI might not suggest yet.

Credit Consumption

Each keyword check uses credits.

  • AI Generation: Costs vary depending on the number of keywords and searches performed.

  • Manual Input: Usually consumes 2 credits, covering both the keyword and its variation checks.

  • Brand AI Summary: consumes 1 credit, used only in the first call of one Brand

  • Competitors Generation: consumes 1 credit, used only if your Brand does not have competitors

  • Keywords Validation: consumes 1 credit, validates if the generated keywords are a good fit for your brand

You can see your remaining credits inside the Generate Keywords sidebar.

SEO Providers

Managing Your Keywords

After generation, your keyword list displays:

  • Volume – Estimated monthly search volume.

  • Difficulty – Relative SEO competition level (lower = easier to rank).

  • Actions:

    • Generate AI Q&A Set – Create AI questions and analysis from that keyword.

    • Delete – Remove it from your list permanently.

    • Get a Second Opinion - Generate same keywords in a different provider for you to compare data

You can sort your list by Most Recent, Volume, or Difficulty to find the best opportunities quickly.

High Potential Keywords

A High Potential tag appears when a keyword reaches a sweet spot between good search volume and manageable difficulty.

These keywords represent the best balance between opportunity and effort.

✅ It's always recommendable to Sort by Volume. By doing that, Savannabay automatically Sorts by Volume Descending and  Difficulty Ascending.

Best Practices

  • Use AI Generation for discovery, and Manual Input for precision.

  • Focus on keywords with a balance of good volume and low difficulty.

  • Re-run the generator periodically to uncover new opportunities.

  • Avoid over-analyzing “zero volume” keywords - focus on actionable data first.

  • Find your competitors and put them at competitors page before generating keywords if you want to save credits
