The Recommendations feature is where Savannabay turns analysis into action.
Each recommendation goes beyond simple SEO or content ideas, it builds a competitive strategy for your brand around a specific topic, based on how AI search engines currently perceive and rank your market.
When you run a recommendation, Savannabay browses real SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) through Perplexity or ChatGPT + Web Search, analyzes top-performing pages, and generates tactical suggestions on how your brand can stand out.
How Recommendations Work
Recommendations are generated directly from the AI Q&A Sets page.
Each question in your Q&A Set can be explored individually to understand why some brands are winning and how you can compete.
Step 1. Choose a Question
From any AI Q&A Set, click the Recommendations button next to a question you want to analyze — for example, “What’s the best free chart maker online?”
Savannabay will use this question as the base to research AI and web data.
Step 2. Select the AI Source
You’ll see two available options:

Perplexity AI – Fast and cost-effective. Focuses on citation quality and direct SERP insights.

ChatGPT (GPT-5-mini) + Web Search – Performs a broader web scan, combining conversational analysis with live SERP exploration.
💡 Tip: Use Perplexity for quick visibility benchmarking, and ChatGPT + Web Search when you want deeper competitive storytelling or strategic positioning.
Step 3. Run the Analysis
Click One Page Report to start.
Savannabay connects to the chosen AI, fetches top results, and browses main pages referenced or ranked for that query.
It studies their tone, structure, positioning, and hooks — then builds a recommendation strategy showing what your brand can do to outperform them.
Each recommendation consumes credits, displayed in the panel before you run it.
Reading and Using the Recommendations
Once the analysis is complete, you’ll see a structured, AI-crafted plan — not just a paragraph, but a strategic outline with patterns, angles, and next steps.
For example:

Each strategy can include:

All generated recommendations are automatically saved under Saved Recommendations for easy access later.
How Recommendations Are Generated

If Perplexity favors “list articles” and ChatGPT emphasizes “visual tutorials,” the recommendation may combine both into a hybrid approach — e.g., “Top 5 Free Tools Tested with 3-Minute Tutorials” — helping your brand dominate both models’ logic.

Best Practices

Always start recommendations from keywords that have the highest volume and lowest difficulty to maximize data relevance.

Make sure to prioritize if you want to rank on Perplexity or ChatGPT as the strategy is usually very different.
- Revisit saved recommendations regularly to track progress and implement one strategy at a time.
